First Swim Class

Sophia and I have started swim classes at the 14th street YMCA. It was tons of fun! She got a little scared when we first went into the water, but after a little while she was splashing away enjoying herself. Also, when the instructor through some balls in the water for the babies to grab, Sophia grabbed not just one ball, but two! That's my girl! (She even tried to grab a third...) Oh and she had one in each hand :)

Sophia- Startng to Move

So for the last week Sophia has been bottom scooting as a way to get around. She doesn't go very far, but she is definitely beginning to cover a little ground. I finally got some of her movement on video :) She's got to figure out what to do with her feet and legs, but I think it's time to use our all safety equipment.

First Time in the Snow

Dada

So Sophia started saying dada. I know probably many moms say this... but I really thought she was going to say Mama first. Let me tell you why. First of all she would say things like "mimi" and "nana." She has never made a "d" sound. Then suddenly out of nowhere, I'm feeding her in the highchair two nights ago and out comes, "dada". But not just one dada. She did a whole long string of dadas. She has said more dadas since then. It's pretty cool :) It might not be mama, but I'll take it for now.

Now, if only she would get some teeth :)

Trying to Crawl!

Sophia is starting to figure out how to move. She is not quite there yet, but if you look at the video you'll see her raising her butt up real high and then to the side. Before we know it, she'll be on the move. Then we'll be in real trouble!

Xmas Time :)

We toyed with the idea of bringing Sophia to Sears for some "professional" holiday photos, but decided instead to save a few bucks and do it ourselves! I think we did a pretty good job! You guys be the judge :)

Roll Over! Roll over!

Sophia rolled over for the first time about 2 months ago and then she just stopped, as if she didn't care to do it anymore. So I've been practicing with her, and last night she did it about 5 times! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of her :)
